Sickle Cell Awareness

Maroon awareness ribbon on a plain white background.

The Hyacinth Scarlett Foundation’s Sickle Cell Awareness Program was created to increase awareness about sickle cell disease. Donations of Sickle Cell Warrior notebooks, coloring books, crayons, and much needed health items are then delivered to participating hospitals, clinics, and group homes. Items are continually replenished by participating supporters and the Foundation’s collections provide the opportunities for participants to find inspiration, encouragement, and learning experiences.

Projects have involved the following participating organizations:

Advent Health Orlando

Atrium Health: Levine Children’s Hospital North Carolina

Jackson Health: Holtz Children’s Hospital Miami

Shepherd Charities

University of West Indies, Sickle Cell Unit, Jamaica
