Our Mission

Our mission is to continue Hyacinth’s legacy through charitable programs that sustain her lifelong commitment to underserved communities particularly in the advancement of music and health education.

Our Vision

We support and work diligently to help meet basic needs, while striving to bring growth to underserved communities in the areas of music and health education.

Our Story

Hyacinth “Bee” Louise Scarlett (neé Hall-Smith), passed away on December 23, 2021 at the age of 60, after a courageous battle with sickle cell anemia. To honor Hyacinth’s achievements and dedication to the community, her family officially established The Hyacinth Scarlett Foundation, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in May of 2022. Classically trained as an opera singer, Hyacinth’s love of music translated as the choir director (of her church—Victory Place International Worship Center, and of the Jamaica Nurses’ Association of Florida Choir) and for many years as a pianist and music director for the local Salvation Army. Over the span of her over 30 years as a registered nurse, she also worked in the areas of emergency medicine, telemetry, psychiatry (even serving as an Interim director of a local hospital’s behavioral unit) as well as a clinical documentation specialist. She was passionate about combining her studies that also included a degree in business, love of music, and desire to help others.

Our key initiatives focus on three areas: meeting basic needs, advancing music, and health education in underserved communities. Activities include:

-Helping to prepare and distribute food to local homeless shelters with the mobile team

-Conduct summer music education projects with local organizations

-Donate books to local shelters and schools

-Partner with local organizations for the Homeless Clothing Drive Campaign

-Award annual scholarships to college students in need that major in nursing, music, or a related field

Thank you for visiting our website and we look forward to working with you through any of our charitable programs!

God bless always,
