Sickle Cell Awareness
The Hyacinth Scarlett Foundation’s Sickle Cell Awareness Program was created to increase awareness about sickle cell disease. Donations of Sickle Cell Warrior notebooks, coloring books, and crayons with other health items are then delivered to local hospitals and group homes. Items are continually replenished by participating supporters and the Foundation’s collections provide the opportunities for participants to find inspiration, encouragement, and learning experiences.

Travel for Care Lodging Grant Program with Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital for Patients with Sickle Cell Disease
For Families
We know that traveling for treatment can feel overwhelming! Understandably, there can be complex logistics in addition to added expenses during your time away from home. The mission of the Hyacinth Scarlett Foundation’s Travel for Care Lodging Grant Program is to ensure children battling sickle cell disease have the financial assistance needed to have lodging during treatment for clinical trials or innovative treatment modalities not currently available at their local treatment center.
Gas Card or Uber/Lyft Card to Attend Support Groups
We also offer a gas card or Uber/Lyft card for teens interested in attending a group support program.
